What is New in the Calendar?

timeanddate.com has revamped its Calendar to give users more choices in designing and customizing their own personal calendar.  Many small upgrades were made to the Calendar, which now allows people to have greater control over designing their own calendar and make more adjustments to it.

The Calendar helps people plan ahead for major events such as birthdays, anniversaries and holidays, as well as work, educational and other purposes. One of the biggest benefits of the new Calendar is the Advanced Customization option, which incorporates the old Calendar’s customization options with better choices for personalization.

What’s New in the Calendar?

Users now have more options when using timeanddate.com’s Calendar, which is tailored to various uses and needs. It includes:

  • A more refreshed, modern and updated look.
  • Links to articles on holidays and observances under the Holidays and Observances box (this applies to some calendars only but will eventually apply to all calendars in the future).
  • General information, as well as printing information, that is easier to find.
  • Greater choices in Advanced Customization for more creative calendars.
  • The choice to customize a simpler calendar by clicking on the “Basic, classic customization” link above the Calendar.

The new Calendar aims to give people better choices in personalizing their calendar.

Advanced Customization – What’s in it for me?

When you click on the Advanced Customization link, you will find the following options:

  • Country/Language – allows you to select the country of your choice. For many countries, you can also select your preferred language(s).
  • Period – choose the calendar period (eg. one or multiple years, one or multiple months), which allows you to pick and choose the years and months to be shown in the calendar.
  • Format – choose your own calendar format, spacing for notes, page formatting and page breaks for printing.
  • Design – choose your calendar from a variety of styles and colors. You can click on the “Show advanced design customization” tick box to alter major features, month boxes and date boxes to a design of your choice.
  • Titles/texts – choose your calendar title from a list of options. Here you can also chose how you want month names and weekday names to be displayed.
  • Holidays – select how you want holidays to appear in your calendar, as well as weekday colors (eg. red for Saturdays and Sundays).
  • Weeks – you can pick the first day of the week for your calendar, as well as how week numbers are displayed.
  • Moon – choose how you want moon phases to be displayed.
  • Other options – you can decide if you want the calendar to show the day number of the year (“Simple” Julian day number), the number of days left of the year, or if you do not wish to highlight today’s date.

The above options give you a greater choice in customizing and printing your own calendar. You can design and print multiple copies of your own personalized calendar and share it with others.

What if I Prefer the Old Calendar?

You can also choose to customize a simpler calendar that is easy to use. You can access the customization form for this by clicking on the “Basic, classic customization” link above the Calendar. Users who prefer the old design Calendar can select the Classic version of the Calendar by going into Advanced Customization, then clicking on the Design tab, and then selecting “Classic” in the drop-down menu next to “Main template”, or use this link: Classic look calendar

Printing the Calendar

All calendars come in a printer-friendly format, where the link to access this format is found in the box under the Holidays and Observances box on the Calendar page. The Printing Help page gives you tips on getting better print results.
