Lebanon Postpones DST Start 2023

Lawmakers in Lebanon are postponing the start of Daylight Saving Time (DST) to April 21.

Lebanon has moved the DST start date back to March 30 after facing pushback for its decision to postpone the clock change.

DST Schedule in Lebanon

Clocks will be set forward 1 hour:

  • Friday, April 21 at 00:00 (midnight),
    to 01:00 (1 am) local time on Friday, April 21, 2023.

Clocks will be set back 1 hour:

  • Sunday, October 29 at 00:00 (midnight),
    to 23:00 (11 pm) local time on Saturday, October 28, 2023.

Probably Because of Ramadan

On March 23, the government of Lebanon announced that the start of Daylight Saving Time in the country will be postponed until April 21 this year. The country was due to set its clocks forward one hour for DST this Sunday, March 26.

The date for the clock change has been postponed until after the end of Ramadan in April.

Lebanon observes Eastern European Time (EET) as their standard time with a UTC offset of +2.

When DST is in force, the country observes Eastern European Summer Time (EEST), UTC+3.
