The last day of Passover marks the end of the Passover period, which lasts for seven or eight days.
The Islamic New Year is on the first day of Muharram, the first month in the lunar Islamic calendar, which differs from the Gregorian calendar.
Is Muharram/New Year a Public Holiday?
This is a non-working holiday only for people who follow the Muslim faith. Public organizations, schools, and most businesses are open, though some private enterprises may have reduced hours.
A lantern is often used as a symbol for the month of Muharram, the Islamic month of mourning.
