Is Easter Day a Public Holiday?

Although Easter Day is not formally a public holiday in Norway, it is always on a Sunday, which is a day off for most Norwegians anyway. Schools are closed for the Easter holiday and businesses are mainly closed. Gardening centers and a few shops are open, but follow restricted Sunday opening hours.

It is the day after Holy Saturday and the day before Easter Monday.

The dates for Easter change every year as it depends on the day of the March Equinox and the following Full Moon.
