Frequently Asked Questions

Why do ads still show after an upgrade?

Please try to restore the purchase, then force quit (not delete) the app, and then start it again. This is done in various ways, depending on the device you have.

In some cases, the backend transaction with the App Store fails. If the restore process does not work and you have not received an email receipt for the upgrade from Apple, then you have not successfully purchased the upgrade.

Why can I not see any local info in the app?

If you see the message below, it means your device is not connected to the internet:

«No network connectivity or location data – we need internet access and location information to get eclipse information for your location.»

Please try the following:

  1. Turn on mobile data or connect to Wi-Fi.
  2. Go to Settings > Privacy and activate Location Services.

How do I get info about a certain location?

If you use the free version, you get the local eclipse time, plus the obscuration percentage and magnitude for solar eclipses at your location.

If you have purchased the Map Upgrade, you can get this information for any location on the map.

What about GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)?

On May 25, 2018, the European Union introduced the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR ), which is legislation on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the EU.

This app does not access nor store any personal information. However, creating a support request from within the app will ask you to provide an e-mail address to allow us to respond. The support request will also gather a modest set of app-specific settings to help us resolve the support request.

The app uses Google Admob to display advertising which in turn helps fund future app development and maintenance. By granting consent, you allow Admob to provide a better-targeted advertising experience based on your interests.
