The DST Country & State Pages show past and future Daylight Saving Time changes in a country or state of your choice.

What Does the DST Country / State Page Show?

Upcoming DST clock change

The Next change field in the area at the top shows the date and time of the next Daylight Saving Time switch in the selected country, if there is one.

Change country or search for city

Use the search field to open the DST Page for a different country, state, or city.

Problems? See “The city search lists several places with the same name. Which is the one I'm looking for?” in the FAQ section below.

Weather, Time Zone, DST, and Sun & Moon tabs

Use the navigation tabs next to the search field to access the Main Country Page (Time/General tab) or other sub-pages dedicated to specific topics, such as Weather, Time Zone, and Sun & Moon in the city.

Clocks showing this year's DST change

Below the tabs, you can find detailed information about current Daylight Saving Time changes in the selected country. The display defaults to the current year. To select a different year, use the Other years links further down.

Click the Play button on the clocks to see how the change works.

Some countries: DST map and DST table

If Daylight Saving Time is only observed in some parts of the selected country, a DST map is shown further down the page. Green areas indicate areas that observe DST during part of the year, while areas without DST switches are shown in yellow.

Please note that this map does not necessarily indicate where DST is currently in force. It only shows which parts of the country change their clocks in the current year.

For some of the larger countries, we also show a list of the country's states and dependent territories. This includes information about if and when each of them observes DST.

FAQ: Troubleshooting

Why does it show the wrong dates or times for DST clock changes?

The dates and times when Daylight Saving Time starts and ends in a country or territory can change at short notice. In some countries, reliable information is difficult to obtain or the authorities may issue conflicting information.

So, although our researchers work hard to make sure our DST information is correct, the most recent developments may not be reflected on the page yet or our sources may have reported false information. If you spot a mistake, we would be delighted to hear from you via our feedback form. Please make sure to state which page you are referring to and, if applicable, which sources you are comparing us with.

The time has the wrong format. How do I change between the 24-hour and AM/PM clock?

Our system supports both 24-hour and 12-hour (am/pm) clock formats. To change the format, please go to My Units and make a selection in the Time Format drop-down, and click Save Settings.

Why isn't my state or town included?

We currently only offer separate pages for states, provinces, and territories for a few countries. These include the US, Canada, and Mexico.

As for cities and towns, our database of locations includes thousands of locations worldwide, and we now offer an additional 6 million places via the GeoNames database. If you still don't find your town, please let us know and we will consider adding it.

The city search lists several places with the same name. Which is the one I'm looking for?

When you type the location into the search field and it suggests several places by the same name, first have a look at the country flag and the description in parentheses to identify the city you are looking for. If it is still unclear, click on one of the locations and check the geographical position on the map or click on the Time/General tab and check the longitude/latitude information shown near the top of the page.

FAQ: General Info & Instructions

Does the page always show current information?

The DST Country / State Page reflects all Daylight Saving Time changes as soon as they happen. However, following a change, you have to refresh the page to see the latest information.

Which sources do you use to determine DST dates and times?

Our primary sources include law texts, local news agencies and media outlets, embassies, and tourist agencies. We also use the IANA Time Zone Database as a reference. For past dates, we generally consult relevant encyclopediae, newspaper archives, and other works about the location's history.

Follow our Time Zone News to stay up-to-date about changes to DST laws and time zones around the world.

What does “Preliminary date” mean?

Some countries have a history of very short-term changes to their Daylight Saving Time schedules. In that case, we generally mark all future dates as preliminary.

What does “1 hour forward” and “1 hour back” mean?

The DST Country Page does not only show the dates and times of Daylight Saving time clock changes, but also the direction in which clocks are turned. In most countries and territories, the time difference between standard time and Daylight Saving Time is 1 hour—with few exceptions. In that case, we show messages like “1 hour forward” and “1 hour back”, or similar, in several locations on the DST City Page.

Here, forward means that 1 hour is added to the local time, so clocks are turned, for example, from 01:00 (1:00 am) to 02:00 (2:00 am); backward or back means the opposite, so clocks may be turned from 03:00 (3:00 am) back to 02:00 (2:00 am).
