About Castile and León Day

Castile and León Day commemorates the Battle of Villalar when Charles, also known as Charles I (Carlos I) of the Spanish empire, defeated a group of Castilians in the Revolt of the Comuneros on April 23, 1521. He ruled the Holy Roman Empire from 1519 until he stepped down from power in 1556.
