How do I add a city?

Click in the blue box called Add a city to get started... to select your city. Type your city, and select it from the drop-down list. Add another city to compare and convert time zones.

How do I add a time zone?

Click in the main blue box called Add a city to get started... to select a time zone. Type the time zone name and select it from the drop-down list. Continue adding the time zones you want to compare and convert.

How do I reset the Time Zone Converter?

Press the red link at the bottom of the results page called Clear all locations & start again.

How do I change the time?

Use your mouse pointer or finger to drag the red dot on the time slider under your selected cities or time zones. The time is displayed on the right side.

What do the colored dots mean?

The dots are a 'traffic light' color scheme to indicate if a time slot is within
(green) common business hours on weekdays
(yellow) after-hours
(red) after-hours or day off.

How many cities and time zones can I add?

The maximum number of cities and time zones for conversion is 12.

Can I reorder the cities/locations?

Click the little gray pen (edit icon) which appears between the date and time when you hover over a city entry. You can reorder your selected cities up or down using the tiny arrows ˄ ˅ in the bottom left corner of each city entry.

Can I save a default location?

It is not possible to save a location in the Time Zone Converter. However, if you have created a Personal World Clock then the cities and time zones you have there are also in the drop-down list for the Time Zone Converter.

What does the warning symbol next to the time zone mean?

The warning symbol indicates that the local time/time zone is not currently in use, most likely due to Daylight Saving Time (DST). You can click the icon to change this location.

How do I share or save the Time Zone Converter results?

Click the Download / Export Results link in the bottom right corner, and a pop-up will appear. You can either copy the conversion details and paste them into another document/email or you can copy and share/save a link to the page showing the results.

You can also use the links called:

  • Download as text file, which will download a text document named timezoneconverter.txt to your device
  • Add to Calendar, which will download a calendar file named event.ics which can be saved and imported directly to your calendar.

How can I print the results?

Click the Download / Export Results link in the bottom right corner, and a pop-up will appear. You can copy the conversion details and paste them into another document and print the results.

You can also click Download as text file which will download a text document named timezoneconverter.txt to your device that you can print.
